The Benefits of Composting

Landscape Waste Disposal

Landscape waste in the United States accounts for roughly 20% of the total trash collected each year. In 1990, landscape waste was banned from Illinois landfills, leaving limited disposal options for landscapers and municipalities. In our 847 area code alone there are over 500 landscaping service companies, most of which travel long distances to dispose of their waste. The choice to compost directly reduces the need to burn or bury landscape waste, which are both inferior environmental substitutes to composting. In fact, there have been discussions regarding Illinois passing an anti-burn law for landscape waste. We provide a more convenient and compliant disposal alternative for local landscapers and municipalities.

Dairy Manure Composting Benefits

We work with Golden Oaks Farm mixing their dairy manure with landscape waste to create a product that can be easily stored and land applied. Dairy manure has many wonderful nutritional components for soil, and adds value to our compost for your farm and garden.

Finished Compost Benefits

Finished compost is odor-free and stores well.

The primary benefits of using compost are progressively healthier soil, increased water retention, improved crop quality & yield, less reliance on pesticides and reduced fertilizer demand.

Compost is a natural, organic substitute to fertilizer use.
